I was at the Dr’s office with my son, and he was playing with my phone. He handed it back to me when we went in to see the Dr. and while she was out checking on something, I glanced down and noticed I had an e-mail from my cover designer. My long awaited cover is finally here. I took a quick look before I switched back into Mom mode and spoke to the pediatrician. My heart was bursting because I’m so in love with it, and the book that I have been dreaming about is finally real!!
I have a chapter or two to write, and then I’ll be in heavy editing mode. Be on the lookout for the debut of Red Picket Fences Fall 2018!!

I’m Daphne McLean, and I’m a cozy mystery writer living in central NJ. My debut novella, Red Picket Fences is slated to be published in Fall 2018.

Likes: Coffee, wine, crochet, French fries, snarky coffee mugs, reading, writing, gardening, chocolate, my chickens, my dogs, my husband, and of course, my children. Depending on the day, the order of those things changes.
Dislikes: Scratchy sweaters, white chocolate, getting up early, hot avocado, bugs, and not having enough time to read.
I’m fascinated by true crime but love the light-hearted nature of the cozy mystery genre. I love the ocean, and plan to create a series by the beach in the near future!
