I’m constantly astounded by the generosity and the general comradeship of the writing community. Need Advice? Ask away. Need your book shared on social media? Not a problem. Set up a newsletter swap when you only have 80 subscribers and they have 7000? Absolutely.
These acts of kindness are only the tip of the iceberg. We cheer each other on, lift each other up and commiserate when things don’t go exactly to plan. I’m honored to be a part of such a wonderful community.
When I was presented with the opportunity to meet with an aspiring author this week to help her out, I didn’t hesitate. This week is extremely busy for me personally, and I’ve neglected my writing in a big way. However, I didn’t pass up the chance to help a fellow writer and meet last night to discuss her journey. This has been done for me countless times in the past, and it was time for me to pay it forward. It was really a lovely meeting, and I think that I even made a new friend. Honestly, just talking about publishing, and what I was working on re-lit the fire within me. I’d say the meeting was mutually beneficial!
Things in my household are going to ramp up for one last end of school year push, and them hopefully slow down a bit so I can get back at it!
In the meantime, please check out my recommendations for the week!

Rainy Day is headed to greener pastures.
Divorced, and with kids out on their own, she uses a recent inheritance to make big changes to her life. She quits her job and, on a whim, buys a hobby farm in rural Virginia, a hundred miles from her long-time home near Washington, DC. Despite the fact that she has no idea what she’s doing, she’s buoyed by the prospect of living in a small town and adjusting to country life.
Until she finds a body in her bungalow.
A handsome neighbor, a charming pastor, a grumpy bartender, and a bumbling sheriff all manage to complicate the situation, especially when Rainy herself becomes a suspect in the crime.
When things take a turn for the worse, Rainy has to wonder – did she make a mistake buying the farm?

Daisy Savage finally has everything she wants. A new husband. A bunch of kids. A charming old house.
What she doesn’t want is a dead body.
When a frozen pipe in the basement of her century-old home leads her and her husband downstairs into a newly discovered crawl space, they find a coal chute they didn’t know they had. And a corpse inside of it.
Things become complicated when Daisy realizes she knew the victim. And things get even worse when it becomes increasingly clear that the body was placed there to make Daisy look like the killer.
Against her husband’s advice and her own common sense, Daisy makes it her mission to prove to the denizens of Moose River that she is innocent. But doing so may be more dangerous than she planned.

Happy St. Patricks day weekend! I am so excited for soda bread and corn beef on Sunday. I make my own Irish soda bread every year. I have the most amazing recipe from an old cookbook my mother gave me. (If you’re interested in the recipe, drop me a line!)
I typically try to make smaller loaves for my neighbors and friends, but it’s just not happening this year. Apparently, my boys decided we’re trapping a leprechaun and I need to look up how to make a trap. (Any help would be greatly appreciated) Also, we need to hide our gold and money. How did I go 30-something years without knowing all of these leprechaun rules? In any case, these leprechaun shenanigans are going to keep me very busy this weekend. I’ll only have time for one loaf.
Anyway, today is your lucky day! (Weekend) If you were on the fence about giving this indie author a chance, you can download Red Picket Fences FREE on Amazon Kindle this weekend only. I would love to have you (Yes, you) as my reader. Jennifer Temple and the quaint neighborhood of Pembury Acres are waiting…
I’ve also got some awesome cozies to share with you! (I’m not here to only talk about myself BOOOORING!)

All I have to say is, What.A.Week.
I have no idea what happened, but the week was going along swimmingly, and then BAM like rapid fire, the days ticked off and all of a sudden it’s Friday, I have a mile long to-do list, and what seems like 5 minutes to get everything accomplished.
I’m throwing myself a little “release party” this weekend for Red Picket Fences. It’s really just an excuse to get some local friends together and eat all of the cupcakes, and maybe (definitely) have a glass of wine or two. I’ve got a lot of house cleaning and cooking to do, but I’m really looking forward to it.
Wednesday was a complete wash because I had a scary yet potentially comical (maybe one day?) mishap with some professionally applied false eyelashes. In a sad attempt to glam myself up for the party, I used a gift card my friend generously gave to me to have eyelashes put on. I had them applied at 10:30 AM, and they looked beautiful! The lashes of my dreams. The best part was, I didn’t see or feel them. Until… 3:30 PM rolled around, and all of a sudden, my eyesight went completely blurry. I couldn’t read, and then I couldn’t make out the features of people’s faces. My father rushed me to the salon to get them removed, and as it happened, there was an eye Dr. right next door. They patched me up, and I’m seeing much better today (not 100% but way better). Sometimes the price of beauty isn’t worth it. Lesson learned.
Moving right along, I have some exciting news to share, I have a new release, a freebie, and a cover reveal!

Sassy, snarky Viola Roberts quit her boring accountant job to pursue her dream of writing novels, even if it meant eating ramen noodles every day. Now that her career has taken off, she’s headed to a writers’ conference at an exotic Florida resort complete with white sand beaches and swaying palm trees where she plans to lounge in the shade drinking frosty beverages with little umbrellas. And, of course, no sojourn to tropical climes would be complete without her boozy, wise-cracking best friend, Cheryl.
When Viola discovers the diva of the author world dead (as a doornail) of unnatural causes, the police immediately consider Viola their prime suspect. But when the head detective turns a gimlet eye on Viola’s best friend, the author has had enough!
