Presents, Prosecco & Procrastination. Oh My!

Happy New Year!

Hello all,

It’s been a while. I allowed myself to get totally swept up in holiday joy, (lots of Hallmark Movies) and I took a brief sabbatical from editing my book.

December is a big month in our house. Not only do we celebrate Christmas and New Year, but we also have 3 birthdays early on in the month (5th,6th, and 7th).

Note to Self: do not plan on doing writing in the month of December from now until eternity.

In any case, loads of cookies were baked, presents were carefully wrapped, and prosecco was sipped to ring in the New Year! As a grand finale, I celebrated my 39th birthday on January 3rd, then again on January 4th, and once more on January 5th. I’m one blessed lady.

Many people make resolutions, and while some see it as a silly practice, I see each new year as a fresh beginning. I’ve tackled many of my resolutions for last year (I wrote a BOOK!!). While other resolutions have carried over to 2019, I’ll never give up.

My resolutions are simple:

  1. Publish my book.
  2. Write another book.
  3. Profit (Hopefully)
  4. Start a weekly pizza and game night tradition with my kids.
  5. Hit the gym 3 times a week.

I think the key is to keep your goals manageable so you’re not overwhelmed.

Anyway, I just wanted to pop back in and say hey! Now I should really be getting back to editing Red Picket Fences. Are you excited?! I am!

In the meantime, I would love to hear about your resolutions and more about what you’re reading!

Gettin Witchy with it…

Hi All!

It’s definitely been awhile. I’m happy to report that I am in the final stages of completing Red Picket Fences.

I’m learning a great deal more about the writing process along the way, and am extremely grateful to those who took the time to beta read the book! I’m now going through line-by-line to make sure I’ve got everything right!

After final edits are complete, I have to contact my cover artist to let her know the final page count and finalize the blurb that will go on the back. After the cover is finalized, I’ll hit the publish button and promptly shout it from the proverbial rooftops! (It’s coming very soon!)

Other than that, I’ve been busy getting used to our new school routine. Both of my little boys are in school now, and it’s been a rollercoaster ride since September! We’ve also squeezed every ounce of Fall/Halloween fun out of the season.

Halloween is a big deal in this house. We celebrated all day with morning trunk-or-treating, a pre-school party, the Kindergarten parade, having a bash at my house for all of the kids, then finally walking around the streets of my charming little neighborhood gathering more loot. It was one of the best day’s I’ve had in quite some time. In fact, I’m a bit sad that Halloween is over!

If you’re like me and could immerse yourself in Witches and Vampires year round, are in need of a new Cozy Mystery to read, please check out The Case of the Power Spell: A Hillcrest Witch Mystery by Amorette Anderson.

Case of the Power Spell

Buy it on Amazon:

“What’s your biggest fear? For amateur witch Penny Banks, it’s failure.

Business is slow for Penny, the only PI in a small box-canyon town nestled in the mountains of Colorado. When the town mayor offers Penny a case, she can’t turn it down.

While Penny struggles to unravel the case, she also has to figure out if she’s really capable of working magic. An ancient book told Penny that it was her destiny to become a witch, but if that’s true wouldn’t she be better at it?

It’s a good thing Penny’s knitting circle is willing to lend a hand!

A hunky vampire, a blue-haired rival witch, and a high-maintenance Chihuahua named Blueberry Muffin help (and hinder!) Penny along the way.”

That’s all for now! Let me know what you think of the book, and please share with me how your Halloween went. Do you have any special traditions? I’d love to hear about it!

Stay Cozy,

P.s. Here is a shot of my table before it was ravaged!
